Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  Can you capture video and photograph in the same shoot?
A:  Yes, because in a matter of minutes, we can customize our camera mount to house a High Definition video camera or a High Resolution Digital Camera (8 MegaPixels Minimum).

Q:  Is the footage you record broadcast quality?
A:  Absolutely. We record our video in High Definition (AVCHD).

Q:  Is your equipment stable enough to shoot live to air?
A:  Yes. We use a wireless downlink to monitor what the camera sees at all times and with the proper set-up we could       broadcast live to air.

Q:  Is your footage stable enough for television and commercials?
A:  Definitely. Our camera is mounted so that it is shock absorbed, noise dampened and gyro stabilized on 3 different        axis. We use customizable equipment as required for each shoot.

Q:  With your camera being on a special mount, are there any obstructions that get into the shot?
A:  We have a viewing radius of 180 degrees (up to down) and 720 degrees (left to right) without obstructions.

Q:  Can you zoom into specific objects while in the air?
A:  No, but why would you want to do that while we can easily manoeuvre the helicopter to fly directly at the object           that you are trying to capture.

Q:  How close can you fly to objects that you are capturing?
A:  We have been known to fly our helicopter between trees, in and out of sand traps and we've taken off in heavily           forested areas too!

Q:  Can your helicopter fly near obstacles like trees or bridges?

A:  Yes, but with caution. Our professionally trained RC helicopter pilot can manoeuvre in and out between trees, or sand traps etc.

Q:  How fast is your helicopter?

A:  Our helicopter can travel about 40 - 60 km's per hour

Q:  How loud is your helicopter?
A:  Our helicopter is about the same loudness of your common everyday weed-eater.

Q:  How low and and how high do you fly to capture the best footage?
A:  We are able to capture footage and images right from the ground up to as high as 1000' (305m). Because we can fly lower than a full sized aircraft, we are able to capture more intimate images by being closer to the action, at the same time we are also able to capture bird's-eye panoramic images just like a full sized aircraft can.

Q:  How many employees show up for each shoot?
A:  On a typical shoot there are 3 employees that conduct the shoot.  (Helicopter Pilot, Camera Pilot, Spotter /                 Technical Video Assistant).

Q:  After you capture the footage, what's next?
A:  After we capture the footage, we go immediately into post production where we do the necessary adjustments to display your brand effectively. We have the ability to produce anything that your company may desire in the realm of television commercials to interactive vignettes of your product for the web or cell phones. We have the complete post production facilities to edit all footage after the shoot and edit all photographs.

Q:  How much will it cost?
A:  It will cost approximately 1/3 the price of aerial photography that uses full sized helicopters. Because we utilize a Remote Controlled Camera Ship, we save on aviation fuel and do not require full sized helicopter ownership, our costs reflect that difference.

Q:  How can your video help my company?
A:  Our video can be displayed on DVD's, broadcast television, cell phones or made into flash files to be viewed on the world wide web providing a strong visual component to your marketing campaign.

Q:  Are there any limitations to where and when you fly?
A:  We don't fly in the rain and we try not to fly if the winds exceed 30 km/h. There is a full list of guidelines that we follow, click HERE to view.
